Spanning 11 halls at the Istanbul Expo Center, the 2026 International Carpet and Flooring Expo united 500 exhibitors and nearly 50,000 professionals to shape the future of the $17 billion global market.
The International Carpet and Flooring Expo (ICFE 2026), one of the most significant events in the global flooring industry, has successfully concluded its four-day marathon in Istanbul. Occupying a massive 100,000-square-meter area across 11 halls, the exhibition served as a high-octane trade hub, reinforcing Türkiye’s position as the world’s second-largest carpet exporter.
Organized by Tüyap Exhibitions Group in collaboration with the Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association (İHİB) and the Southeastern Anatolia Carpet Exporters’ Association (GAHİB), ICFE 2026 took place at the Istanbul Expo Center (İFM) from January 6 to 9, 2026. The event brought together nearly 500 exhibiting companies from 25 countries, including industry leaders from Iran, India, Pakistan, Belgium, and the USA.
A Global Hub for Trade and Design The international character of the fair was reflected in its visitor statistics. Professionals from 127 different countries—including key markets like the USA, Russia, Germany, and Saudi Arabia—attended the event to explore the latest collections. The fair showcased a diverse product range, from traditional handwoven masterpieces to high-tech machine-made carpets, sustainable floor coverings, and advanced textile machinery.
A major highlight of the 2026 edition was the emphasis on sustainability and digital innovation.
- Carpet Talks: Industry experts discussed zero-waste production, recyclable materials, and the integration of artificial intelligence in design.
- The Record-Breaking Carpet: A unique project titled “The Carpet Designed by the Highest Number of Designers” brought together 400 different visions into a single work of art.
- Design Awards: The ICFE Carpet Design Awards honored 10 outstanding works, bridging the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern aesthetics.
Economic Impact and Future Outlook With the global carpet market currently valued at approximately $17 billion, Türkiye’s strategic role is expanding. Turkish manufacturers, who currently hold 17% of the global market share, utilized ICFE 2026 to secure high-volume export contracts for the coming year. Preliminary data suggests that 85% of exhibitors established new business connections during the fair, surpassing the previous year’s performance.
As the doors closed on Hall 11, the sentiment among exhibitors was clear: Türkiye is no longer just a manufacturing base but a trendsetting center for global flooring fashion. The success of ICFE 2026 sets a strong tone for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, promising continued growth for the “Made in Türkiye” brand in high-standard markets like Europe and North America.
